The Michelin Guide's review
On a bank dominating the Clyde stands a house considered as the best example of local Mackintosh architecture. Built in 1902-1904 for a Glasgow publisher, Walter W Blackie, this house was designed with great care. Everything has the indelible mark of the architect's great talent. The white or dark surfaces have been enlivened by coloured windows, stucco panels, lighting or stencilled motifs.
