The Michelin Guide's review
Built between 1897 and 1902, the metal structure of Long Bien Bridge (formerly Paul Doumer Bridge) spans the Red River; for many years it was the sole crossing point. Now flanked by Chuong Duong Bridge, 650m downstream, which links Hanoi to Gia Lam, Cau Long Bien is now used only by bicycles and pedestrians. The city's most fascinating market (Cho Long Bien) takes place under the bridge.
