Hangzhou History Museum
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Situated on the road leading to the summit of Wu Hill, Hangzhou Museum charts the history of the city through a fine collection of exhibits accompanied by explanatory panels in English. These include the Kang Mausoleum, the walls of which are painted with flowers and mythical creatures, and Ding bronzes sculpted with geometrical patterns. The top of the hill is carpeted with woods of camphor trees, dominated by Chenghuang Pagoda, which houses a huge engraving in relief depicting the city during the Southern Song period.
