Händelhaus

The Michelin Guide's review
Handel was born in this large half-timbered house in 1685. The composer left Halle in 1703 and after numerous spells in Germany and Italy, finally settled in London, acquiring British nationality in 1727. The house was skilfully transformed into a museum in 1948. Note the organ by Gottlieb Mauer (1770), the historical piece known as Bohlenstube (traces of mural paintings) and the very recent pergola named "Under the Sun of Arcadia".
