Thach Dong Pagoda
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Thach Dong pagoda is an astonishing structure nestled inside a cave hewn out of a karst peak, with steps leading to it. It houses a statue of Ngoc Hoang, the Jade Emperor of the Taoist religion, as well as a statue of Quan Am. A gentle, refreshing breeze passes through the cave, which is inhabited by pigeons and bats. A small stele at the entrance commemorates the massacre of 130 civilians by the Khmer Rouge on 14 March 1978.
