A symbol of Mexican popular culture, mariachis are quite at home in Guadalajara. Literally taken by storm at nightfall, the Plaza de Mariachis comes alive with the music of violins, guitars and trumpets; the words are belted out by the musicians in costume. Meanwhile glasses are clinking at the sidewalk cafes and the atmosphere is in full swing! A major tradition.
