The Michelin Guide's review
Spectacular and unforgettable Blyde River Canyon, in the Drakensberg massif, is a deep gorge with colourful landscapes dominated by 700m cliffs. Some of the viewpoints, such as God's Window and Lowveld Viewsite, give you a plunging view all the way down the multi-coloured cliffs to the water. Take time to stop at the canyon's main sites in order to take in its singular features: the granite peak of the Pinnacle; 92m-high Lisbon Falls; Bourke's Luck Potholes; and the strange shapes of the Three Rondavels rocks.
