The Michelin Guide's review
This remote compound was once considered the most important fur-trading depot on the Great Lakes. In the late 18C and early 19C, hardy French Canadians called "voyageurs" were hired by fur-trading companies to paddle birch-bark canoes from here to Canada. Several buildings have been reconstructed and are manned by actors in costume.
