In 1926 Elsie Stephen Reford transformed the estate she inherited from her uncle into a magnificent garden. It is home to a profusion of flowers and ornamental plants, including many rare species, which blossom in a series of gardens, ranked among the most beautiful of North America. In the centre of the gardens stands the elegant Villa Estevan, home to a restaurant and a permanent exhibition devoted to the history of the estate and its former owners.
