The Michelin Guide's review
A large copper beech tree stands in the grounds of Coole Park, the former estate of Lady Gregory. Many important Irish literary personalities and guests of Lady Gregory, such as William Butler Yeats, George Bernard Shaw, John Millington Synge and Sean O'Casey, carved their initials in the trunk of this tree. The Visitor Centre, in the former stables, shows a film and an exhibition devoted to the site and Lady Gregory.
