The Michelin Guide's review
The only private Porsche museum in Europe is a reminder that in 1944 the engineer Ferdinand Porsche moved to Gmünd, establishing his famous company's workshop and Head Office here until 1950. The first car bearing the "Porsche" name, the legendary 356, was born in Gmünd. There are also 26 army and sports vehicle prototypes, wooden models (scale 1:1 000) for the first car bodies, as well as more than 400 small-scale models of cars.
