Barrington Tops National Park in Hunter Valley was named after the plateau that looms over it (1,550m/5,085ft). Part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia, boasting rivers, waterfalls and remarkably diverse wildlife and plants, the park has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is must for hikers and bird watchers.
