The Michelin Guide's review
In a splendid setting at the end of Loch Shiel stands this monument built in 1815 in the memory of those who died for Prince Charles Edward Stuart during the 1745 uprising. Here, five days after the Prince landed at Loch nan Uamh, the standard was raised in front of an army of 1,300 Highlanders. The prince's venture ended 14 months later when he headed for France from a nearby location
