  The Michelin Guide's review
St Kevin came to this long, isolated valley in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains, seeking solitude. Later, he founded a monastery that was a very popular pilgrimage centre, before it attracted hordes of tourists. Glendalough Valley is, without doubt, one of Ireland's most evocative monastic sites and an ideal spot for walks in the surrounding mountains.
