The Michelin Guide's review
A region of very high mountains, glacial lakes and ancient forests, the Nass Valley, part of which is petrified in lava, presents a multi-facetted geographical landscape. Its abundant natural resources enabled the Nisga'a to produce here one of the richest of indigenous cultures, in material and spiritual terms. The Nisga'a people were also the first to claim land rights on their territories and have these rights recognised by a treaty on 11 May 2000. Welcome to the land of the Nisga'a.
