On the very site of the the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863 is the Gettysburg National Military Park, which covers a 2 360ha area. The brick visitor centre houses the Gettysburg Museum of the Civil War. The nearby Cyclorama Center contains a circular painting, which is the central point of a sound and light show charting how the Battle of Gettysburg unfolded.
