Museum of Industry
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This museum set in an old cotton mill charts the city's industrial past. The plants growing in the garden were once used to dye the cloth. Various machines, artefacts, documents and reconstructed interiors illustrate the changes that industrial society underwent. Among the machines, note the famous mule-jenny that was smuggled into Belgium from England by L Bauwens in 1810.
