The Michelin Guide's review
A Protestant church since 1536, this huge edifice built in the 12C and 13C has been modified several times, acquiring a somewhat unexpected Neo-Classical façade in the 18C. Look out for Calvin's seat in the imposing, sober interior. From the North Tower, there is a superb panorama over Geneva, the lake, the Jura and the Alps. The cathedral's archaeological crypt (in the basement) represents 2,000 years of history.
