The Michelin Guide's review
The Golden Gate was built between 1612 and 1614 in the Renaissance style, by architect Jan Strakowski to plans by Abraham van der Blocke. Added in 1648 by Piotr Ringering, the eight allegorical statues represent the burgher's virtues (west side: Peace, Justice, Glory and Harmony; east side: Prudence, Piety, Liberty and Unity).
