The Michelin Guide's review
Fans of the Federal style will love this elegant stately home; built in the early 1800s, it was disassembled and moved, piece by piece, to this site overlooking the Hudson, before opening to the public in 1961. The low-key, elegant architecture illustrates the 18C taste for the "antique" by its graceful columns, narrow windows and delicate ornamentation. Inside some of the furnishings are by Duncan Phyfe.
