The Michelin Guide's review
The oldest trading post on the Navajo Reservation that is still operating; it was established in 1878 by John Lorenzo Hubbell. He traded food or tools with his Navajo clientele for their craft productions. The main room, known as the Bullpen, has been preserved in its original state. In the jewellery room you may meet a Navajo craftsman come to sell his latest creations; colourful weavings are displayed with geometrical patterns in the Rug Room.
