The Michelin Guide's review
This striking timber-framed hall, flanked by two rows of buildings, is one of the best-preserved late medieval manor houses in England. It was originally all timber-framed, except for the brick kitchen and tower and stone bay window. Elizabethan features were added to the buildings. The vast halls, chambers, furnished tower and kitchens illustrate life in the Middle Ages. There is a permanent exhibition about the Old Hall and the Mayflower Pilgrims.
