The Michelin Guide's review
Housed inside stone warehouses dating from the 1850s, the galleries of the Shipwrecks Museum present impressive wrecks discovered off Western Australia. Ghosts of the past arisen from the waters, magnified by formal lighting, and summoning up the legend of those who dared to venture to this Antipodean coastline in the 17C and 18C. The highlight of the collection: the remains of the Batavia, a Dutch merchant ship that sank 400km from Perth.
