The Michelin Guide's review
Texas' oldest botanic garden began as a Depression-era relief program in 1933. The 109-acre gardens feature more than 2,500 native and exotic species. The rose garden is abloom in late April and October. A Japanese garden features waterfalls and colorful koi. The Exhibition Greenhouse is home to an impressive begonia collection, while tropical plants fill the lush, 10,000sq-ft Conservatory.
