The Michelin Guide's review
In 1646, Willem de Besche bought a foundry and its three forges, all of which were operational from 1570 until 1898. The English-style grounds surrounding the Gustavian-style manor (1774) were designed by Jean Eric Rehn, who also planned the symmetrical layout of the village. At the ends of the high street stand the manor and church (1800), the two symbols of authority. Visitors can also enjoy a beautiful view from the church tower.
