The Flow Country is a remote and immense marshland, dotted with pools and teeming with birds. It is backed by great eminences like Ben Loyal. Near Forsinard are 7,000 ha of very well-protected Nature Reserve. A visitor centre has been set up in the station, the most remote in the region. From here a nature trail takes visitors on flagstone paths through the fascinating peat bogs.
