Numedal Valley
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The mountainous region of southern Norway is characterised by its dense forest, which, above a certain altitude, gives way to moorland, and deep valleys occupied by powerful rivers. Numedal is without a doubt the most typical and picturesque of these valleys, with its lovely old farmhouses, many of which have been built high up, its unique wooden stave churches, and its welcoming villages (Svene, where you cross the river, Lampeland).
