The Michelin Guide's review
The Panch Mahal (a five-storey palace), easily recognisable from a distance thanks to its tall triangular silhouette, separates the women's area from the men's. Its five hypostyle storeys decrease in size, each placed on top of the other like a pack of cards. The 176 sculpted columns are all said to be different. The building must once have been enclosed by jalis, which caught the breeze and transformed the area into an ideal place for sleeping on hot summer nights.
