One of the small islands off Gotland, Fårö was a favourite spot of director Ingmar Bergman, and continues to draw politicians and other public figures. The northwest coast of this paradise is lined with stacks (stone columns detached from the coastline) near the pebbled crest of Gamlehamn, as well as between Digerhuvud and the little fishing village of Helgumannen, and also at Langhammars. The coast is bordered by sandy beaches, like the one at Sudersand.
