The Michelin Guide's review
The Loios convent (or convent of St Eloi) was founded in the 15C. The conventional buildings are now home to a pousada. With the exception of the porch, which fronts a Flamboyant Gothic portal, the church façade was modified after the earthquake of 1755. Under a dais, note the coats of arms of the Melo, counts of Olivença, for whom this church serves as a necropolis. Admire the nave, covered with a vault with ribs and tiercerons, which is decorated with beautiful azulejos from 1711.
