Châtaigneraie hiking and information trail
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
On leaving Évisa, the chestnut path (chemin des Châtaignes) is dotted with panels (French) that explain the history of the sweet chestnut farming. It follows an old transhumance cattle track that runs alongside the "Mare a Mare nord" national hiking trail. The path meets up with the road for a few hundred yards before you take the first path on the left to the Aïtone falls.
