Truyère Gorge

The Michelin Guide's review
Unyielding and obstinate the River Truyère has cut deeply into the granite plateau of the upper Auvergne, creating a winding and narrow gorge which is often wild and wooded. Hydroelectric dams have greated a long narrow lake. Leaving Entraygues on the D 34, the road only briefly follows the valley, but other routes traverse it offering some splendid viewpoints.
