The Michelin Guide's review
Occupying the verdant valley of the North Saskatchewan River, this park recreates the major stages of the colonisation of Edmonton. You will see the Hudson Bay Company's fur trading post and the First Nations encampment (1860). You can then explore a wide, muddy street lined with modest stores (1880), the Prairies railway village (1910) at a time of great expansion and, finally, the site in the 1930s in the throes of urban development. An entertaining and informative visit.
