The Michelin Guide's review
This narrow six-storey tenement is typical of 17C Edinburgh, when buildings were built skyward. There is a shop beneath the arcades on the ground floor and flats occupy the upper floors. The first-floor apartment, with its original painted ceilings, carved Scottish bed and Dutch coffering, is a good example of an apartment of the time.
