The Michelin Guide's review
Its fabulous collections make this one of Scotland's most prominent museums. Located in a handsome Victorian edifice (1861) and a modern wing inaugurated in 1998, an eclectic range of artefacts is displayed from fossils, furniture and decorative arts to stuffed animals and artwork. After a restoration that lasted until 2019, the museum now takes visitors on a wonderful journey through the history of art, design, fashion and science in Scotland and the world.
