The Michelin Guide's review
This enormous Italianate villa with a six-storey campanile and terraced gardens (completed in 1851), was the work of Thomas Cubitt in collaboration with Prince Albert. The Durbar wing was built in 1890. The favourite residence of Queen Victoria, Osborne House can by explored via carriage ride around the grounds as far as the Swiss Cottage where the royal children learned to cook.
