Verdant Works
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
In its heyday, jute production in Dundee was an industry that employed 50 000 people, mainly in Blackness, one of the first areas in Scotland to be industrialised towards the end of the 18C. The area has nonetheless retained its rural appearance, and the main factory was named Verdant Mill. It has been turned into an extremely dynamic museum charting the history of a manufacturing activity that was of great importance for the city.
