The Michelin Guide's review
The vast and mountainous Vancouver Island has a jagged western coastline, very vulnerable to attacks via the ocean such as in the Pacific Rim National Park, and a gently sloping eastern coast, with fine beaches towards the south. The temperate climate and high rainfall favoured the growth of a giant and dense forest, offering visitors the impressive sight of well-preserved nature. The population is concentrated around the lovely town of Victoria and along the Georgia Strait.
