The Michelin Guide's review
This red sandstone church and prominent tower were built in 1821 to replace the collegiate church (1342), erected by the 10th Earl of Dunbar. Ravaged by fire in 1988, the parish church has now been restored. Inside is the imposing marble and alabaster funeral monument of George Home (1556-1611), a favourite of James IV; the life-size effigy represents the Earl kneeling, wearing the costume of a Knight of the Garter and surrounded by men at arms.
