Lauderdale House
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This red sandstone house stands at the far northern end of the High Street. In the late 18C, the Earl of Lauderdale commissioned Robert Adam to make some alterations to the original building. The façade giving onto the High Street, typical of the work of this adept of Classicism, is particularly rich in decorative detail. The entrance on the southern façade has a semicircular portico, created by Adam.
