The Michelin Guide's review
Up until 2003, this Neoclassical house was the home of the Gore-Booth family, whose most famous member was Constance, Countess Markievicz, who took part in the 1916 uprising and was the first elected woman Member of Parliament in 1918. The memory of Yeats and many others lingers still in this old property. The new owners have embarked on an ambitious restoration campaign that will delight lovers of history, poetry, gardening and architecture.
