The Michelin Guide's review
Saxony folk arts pieces are presented in numerous rooms of the city's oldest Renaissance building (erected in 1568). They include painted armoires, indigo printed fabrics (Blaudruckerei) and crockery displayed according to its place of production (earthenware from Zittau, honey pots from Lunzenau etc). Regional costumes from Saxony and Swabia are also presented, alongside toys, Christmas decorations and the Schneeberg nativity set (1958), inspired by the world of mining. Extensive collection of puppets.
