The Michelin Guide's review
The public garden of Domfront Keep occupies the site of a fortress dating from 1092, but destroyed in 1608. Two wall sections of the keep and two round towers from the castle of Henri I Beauclerc still remain, as do as the ruins of St Symphorien Chapel (late 11C). The terrace, built at the top of a rocky plateau dominating the Varenne from a height of 70m, offers a panoramic view of the Passais landscape of small fields and hedgerows.
