The Michelin Guide's review
Built in 1770, the church stands to the right of the road on a hillock, its slopes forming a flower-decked cemetery. It was built using interlocking beams and boasts an impressive roof. Topped by an elegant pointed spire, the exterior bears the twisted ropework decoration characteristic of Maramures churches. Inside, the magnificent wall paintings are by Radu Munteanu and date from 1780.
