Death Valley National Park

The Michelin Guide's review
It's hard to take in the wide-open spaces of Death Valley, where rugged canyons, gullied slopes, beautiful sand dunes, colourful hills and salt flats extend across a land which experiences extreme temperatures. The two roads which cross the park give visitors a good flavour of this huge desert which blooms with flowers after heavy rainfall. Despite its rather forbidding name, the park is home to a great diversity of natural landscapes and wildlife.
