  The Michelin Guide's review
The Kyushu National Museum pulls off the bold move of setting its collections, which cover the history of Japan, in a modern museum design. The contemporary architecture makes for a fascinating juxtaposition: housed in a building designed by Kikutake Kiyonori, the exhibition tackles the subject of the country's past from the angle of its economic relations with other Asian countries, from prehistory up to the Edo period (1603-1867).
