A visit to the ancient site of Kaunos takes you on a delightful journey back in time. Located on the right bank of the Dalyan River, linking Koycegiz Lake to the Mediterranean, it is reached by boat. A walk then cuts through thick undergrowth where wild grass and olive trees have grown amid ruins to create an enchanting scene: Roman theatre, baths and other remains from the past rub shoulders with a delightful Byzantine church. A few Lycian tombs can be observed nearby.
