Magnolia Hotel
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Built in 1922 to house the seat of the Magnolia Petroleum Company, this is Dallas's finest historical skyscraper. Twenty-nine storeys high and composed of two wings joined halfway up by a stone arch, it is crowned by a huge red Pegasus - the company's former logo and one of the symbols of the city. If spending the night here in the grand hotel is not an option for you, at least go inside and take a look at the elevator lobby, which has retained its fine period decoration.
