Pyramid of Amenemhat III

 Michelin Guide
 Historical and archaeological site
  The Michelin Guide's review
Intended to be Amenemhat III's tomb, this was the last pyramid built at Dashur under the XII Dynasty. However, the Pharaoh had to abandon the site in favour of the Pyramid of Hawara when the unsound terrain caused construction problems. It is made of unfired bricks and does not have reinforced walls. Originally covered with a fine layer of limestone from Tourah, its current grey appearance has earned it the nickname of Black Pyramid.
