The Michelin Guide's review
With its shaded squares, lavish garden planted with orange and lemon trees and pleasing rectangular maze of avenues and lanes, Cuzco is depicted by a Moorish-Andalusian urban plan, whose baroque churches, symbolic of the conquering faith, rub shoulders with handsome casonas (stately homes), often turned into museums or luxury hotels. A stroll around the town centre will reveal a few fine examples.
